Violet & Black Tehuantepec Huipil

This Tehuana “huipil de cadenilla” features geometric patterns in deep rose and black, embroidered onto rich, violet satin. Cadenilla is Spanish for “chain,” so-called because the embroidery creates the illusion of a chain around the wearer’s neck. This huipil was created in Istmo de Tehuantepec, in Oaxaca. One size fits small up to large. The Tehuana style was often worn by Frida Kahlo! See attached images.
