Tastuane Dancers

Pottery figures that sit in little chairs on a pottery base with St. John and his dog. The Ortega that made this died many years ago — mid 80’s — right after Candelario Medrano, from STA. Cruz de Las Huertas, Jalisco. He made all the masks for the town’s Tastuane dancers — their very important ceremonial dance where they defeat the Spaniards during the conquest.
