These huipiles are handwoven in the community of Santiago Ixtayutla which is located in the foothills of the Sierra Madre mountains on Oaxaca’s Pacific coast. They are woven by hand on a backstrap loom as pictured above. The Ixtayutla huipiles feature unique and intricate geometric designs. The garments are made from 100% cotton and are one of our favorites for the summer. Airy and comfortable, you will never want to take it off! These long huipiles work fabulously in hot weather, dressed up or down, or over a bathing suit!
