The “Beti” blouse, named after the woman who made most of them, is a lightweight cotton huipil blouse with hand-embroidered silk or cotton floral designs, often including delicate, “fino-deshilado” or open crochet-work around the collar. Deshilado is a very fine hand-work technique where the threads are taken away and crocheted around. These blouses hail from San Antonino, Mexico, and they’re light, airy, and perfect for warmer weather. You can also wear a long sleeved or turtleneck underneath during cooler months.
