We carry a number of whimsical, colorful coconut art pieces which were hand-crafted in Guerrero, Mexico by Nahua Indian families who’ve been producing such wonderful folk art for generations. Each was made using half of a coconut, which was dried and then hollowed out. Various appendages have been added using a variety of indigenous plants, including seed-pods, small corncobs and other natural items. Artists then apply acrylic paint, making each mask a unique piece of folk art! We also carry mermaid coconut bowls, made using a similar process.
