Marcia's Minute
How refreshing and delicious those cooler days
and nights felt last week! Fall is truly in the
air.
I hope you enjoyed your summer; I had a
wonderful one filled with lots of travel,
including visits with my daughters and their
families in Southern and Northern California.
Late July found me in Oaxaca enjoying the
verdant mountains and valleys of this year’s
particularly glorious rainy season. I went on a
buying trip and I was also leading my first “La
Sirena Tour”, A Oaxacan Power Journey, a
very adventurous trip with 9 other women up into
the mountains to meet with some amazing
curanderos, traditional healers. As the week
progressed I learned many new things as well as
shared my knowledge of Oaxaca and her culture
and people. I fell even more deeply in love with
Oaxaca, my gratitude and appreciation for the
indigenous people and their sustainable
lifestyle grew even stronger.
I found this new role of “guide” suited me and I
wanted to do another trip; so Charlie, my
husband, and I are going to be leading a trip in
late January! See the link below for more
information. Please contact Amy with questions
and get your deposits in, we expect this trip to
fill rapidly.

September Artist Spotlight: Reynaldo Santiago |

Master carver Reynaldo Santiago's pieces are
wonderfully expressive, and have a delightful
primitive quality about them. Painted in great
detail to give each piece a personality that shines
through its wooden visage, Reynaldo's work has an
earthy, authentic quality about it.
