Don't Forget Father's Day: June 15th
Father's Day is
June 15th this year, and not too far away! Get
your dad a Guayabera shirt - they will keep your dad cool AND
stylish! |
|
|
Marcia's Minute
Summer is upon us and as you can see we have
some great cotton
clothes from Mexico and Guatemala to keep you
cool, comfortable and looking great! Our skirts,
summer dresses, tops and blouses are easy to
care for and a great way to beat the summer
heat! We have also just received a new and
fabulous group of Guatemalan huipiles, so be
sure to check out the sampling of them in this
month's newsletter. For Dads and the guys, we
have beautiful guayaberas and sport shirts woven
from Guatemalan fabric. Remember, Father's Day
is right around the corner.
What a lovely time I've been having playing with
folk art! I am the Featured Collector in this
month's newsletter, so as I have been focusing
on and reviewing my folk art collection, I've
been filled with joyful memories, gratitude,
inspiration, and a myriad of other emotions for
the artisans that produced these treasures. More
in the collector section below.
I've been told many times, "You have a great
job; you are doing your dream!" Yes, I agree, I
have a fabulous job! I'm able to do what I do
because of the very competent and capable
support of the El Interior staff. I especially
want to thank Amy Morrow, store manager and
producer/editor of this newsletter; what a great
job she is doing! She and David Mercado do all
they can to give our customers the very best in
customer service.
Lately as I travel, I realize how much I'd like
to share this folk art experience with others. I
would like to announce to our valued friends
that El Interior is offering a
once-in-a-lifetime investment opportunity at El
Interior. My husband, Charlie, remains active in
international development and maintains a busy
schedule working abroad, and we're both anxious
to spend time with children and grandchildren.
We're looking for someone interested in a
substantial and steady return on their
investment in a business that is as exciting and
enjoyable as it is rewarding. Travel, meet the
folk artists, collect, market, share the world
that few others ever see. For a lover of all
things Mexican! If this is of interest, feel
free to call my business advisor, Brent Hiller,
at (361) 772-4495 or email him at
Brent@VRTexasCapital.com
Saludos,
Marcia Lucas

May Artist Spotlight: Francisco Flores |

Francisco Flores and his wife are continuing the
tradition of making brightly painted and joyously
decorated Tree of Life candelabras and incense
burners. These objects were traditionally used for
religious and ceremonial purposes in Izucar de
Matamoros, Puebla. Click below
to read about this master folk artist and see our
current selection of his

Laura Wood
Austin, Texas
This is such a neat idea! Laura
needed some little clips for holding up a window
shade, so she used some of our little sterling
silver earrings, cut off the posts, and glued them
to some black clothes pins. Look how great they
look! Thanks, Laura, for such a inventive idea!
