Marcia's Minute

Austin in the springtime is so incredible that
we can't help but think about shedding all of
our heavy winter clothing in order to slip into
something more light, comfortable, and joyful!
And with all of the incredible new fashions that
have come in, and are coming in, we've got you
covered! Not only do we have beautiful new
fashions for women, but we have new Guayaberas &
Guatemalan short & long-sleeve shirts for men!
With all of these fabulous new fashions in, what
could be more fun than to host a fashion show!
We are really looking forward to the fashion
show we are having for the Pan American Round
Table of Texas--we are having so much fun
fitting all of the ladies in the group who will
be modeling the fashions, and we know this show
is going to be fantastic! This is such a
fabulous and fun idea for small groups to
do--and I think it is just as much fun for
us as it is for the ladies involved. So, if you
have a group that would like to do this, let us
know!
And don't forget, we will have the Bells
of Joy Concert on the Saturday before Easter, on
April 7th. The Fabulous Bells of Joy were
founded by the Littlefield brothers - all from
our Clarksville neighborhood!
So come on in on one of
these fabulous spring days and check out all of
the new fashions in, as well as the huge
selection of new purses, fabric-by-the-yard,
textiles, tablecloths, table runners, and more,
that have just come in from Guatemala. I
guarantee that you will see something that you
hadn't before, and as always, we would love to
see you!
Saludos,
Marcia Lucas

El Interior Mailbag |
What exactly are "Worry Dolls"?
Jennifer
Worry dolls, or trouble
dolls, are very small dolls originally made in
Guatemala. A person who cannot sleep due to worrying
can place a worry doll under the pillow; the doll is
thought to worry in the person's place, thereby
permitting the person to sleep. In the morning the
children wake up without their worries, which have
been taken away by the dolls during the night.
Show us your
project or collection! We'd love to feature
YOU in an upcoming issue, so email us a project that
you've done using our textiles, oilcloth, or your
folk art collection, at
amy@elinterior.com.
Also, we'd love to get your
comments or questions, so submit them to the
El Interior Mailbag to be featured in future
issues of our newsletters! |
